Working Principle
The AUTOOL Smoke Leak Detector operates by generating smoke through the forced combustion of smoke oil in a low-oxygen environment. Electrical current is supplied to the heating wire via the conductive pillar, rapidly heating it to over 300°C, causing the mineral oil to reach its ignition point and enter a combustion state. Due to the small input airflow, there is insufficient oxygen to sustain full combustion, so combustion primarily occurs on the surface of the heating wire. The mineral oil residues, when exposed to high temperatures, do not fully combust around the heating wire, resulting in the production of a large amount of smoke.
AUTOOL SDT106 Automotive Smoke Machine Features
Lightweight and Compact: The SDT106 Smoke Leak Detector weighs just 3.5 kg, with a compact size that is lightweight and easy to carry, taking up minimal space. It also features a hook design for added convenience during use.
Built-in air pump: No need to purchase additional pressure pump equipment or go through complicated connection processes. The built-in air pump quickly produces dense smoke, significantly saving detection time and labor.
Wide Applicability: Compatible with various pipe types, it supports the detection of components such as the crankcase, throttle, fuel reservoir, oil seals, intake manifold, and more.
High Cost-Performance: Despite its compact size, the SDT106 Smoke Leak Detector delivers a smoke output of 5L/min, generating smoke in just five seconds with basic leak detection functionality. It meets the essential needs for daily monitoring, offering a high cost-performance user experience.
Safe Operation: The SDT106 is equipped with smart protection functions. When the temperature exceeds 75°C, the high-temperature protection is triggered, and the power is automatically turned off. Similarly, if the temperature drops below -20°C, the low-temperature protection is activated, also automatically cutting off the power to prevent any potential hazards.
Three-Year Warranty, Lifetime Maintenance: For damage caused by non-human factors, AUTOOL promises to resend parts for free within 3 years. If you have any problems, please contact us, and we will respond within 24 hours!
Operating Instructions
Note: Only add new oil when the smoke becomes thin, and the amount of oil injected each time should not exceed 15 milliliters. Before adding new oil, please drain any remaining oil from the smoke leak detector and regularly replace the test oil. During leak detection, stay away from smoke-sensitive areas. Do not operate the detector continuously; take intermittent breaks after 8 minutes of use.
The SDT106 Smoke Leak Detector is equipped with smart protection. If it exceeds its operating limit, such as temperatures over 75°C, it will automatically shut off the power. In such cases, please resume operation later. The circular part of the detector may become hot, so please handle it with caution to avoid burns.
1. Add 10-15 milliliters of baby oil to the SDT106.
2. Open the hood and hang the SDT106 on it.
3. Disconnect the pipes that need to be connected to the SDT106.
4. Connect the SDT106 to a DC12V battery, turn on the power switch, and the smoke leak detector will begin operating.
5. After approximately 30 seconds, the pipes will be filled with smoke.
6. Check for leak points. If necessary, use a headlamp.
